  • The $2 / $10 launch price is now the standard price; the planned rise to $3 / $15 will not happen.

Recent Claude pricing changes

  • Claude Sonnet 5.5 added

    Anthropic’s new Sonnet 5.5 costs the same as Sonnet 5: $2 input / $10 output per 1M tokens, with a 1M-token context window. Claude Code now defaults to Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5.

  • Claude Sonnet 5 keeps its $2 / $10 price

    Anthropic made Claude Sonnet 5’s introductory price of $2 input / $10 output per 1M tokens permanent. The increase to $3 / $15 scheduled for September 1, 2026 will not happen.
